Lou is a character in Mother 3. He can often be found practicing comedy routines with Bud.

In Mother 3

In Chapter 1

Lou and Bud practice comedy routines which follow the same pattern, which is talking about a random subject, making a pun with it, and then Bud proceeds to smack Lou on the head, followed by a simultaneous bow performed by both of them, as a two-key tune is heard.

In Chapter 4

Lou and Bud begin working at the Factory, quitting their comedy routine. Speaking to them reveals they nearly forgot they did it in the first place because it was so long ago.

In Chapter 8

When the Factory is closed down, Lou moves to New Pork City. They begin practicing their comedy routine once again.

Name origin

In the Mother 3 fan translation, Lou was named after Lou Costello of the Abbott and Costello comedy duo. His original Japanese name, Entotsu, is a play on a Japanese manzai comedian named Yokoyama Entatsu.
