The '''Nintendo 64''', often shortened as the '''N64''' is a fifth generation console; [[Nintendo]]'s third home console. The Nintendo 64 was once going to have an extension known as the Nintendo 64 DD, but it got cancelled in America due to its sales not doing well in regions where it was released. A game known as EarthBound 64 was supposed to be released under the Nintendo 64 DD, but was cancelled. It was eventually moved to the [[Game Boy Advance]] and renamed [[Mother 3]]. Because of this, no Mother games are on the system. It does, however, boast a [[Super Smash Bros. (series)|Super Smash Bros.]] game featuring [[Ness]]. This was the start of the series, which has had record breaking sales and ratings with its games spanning three systems.
