Brick Road (alternatively Brickroad) is a character in EarthBound who specializes in building dungeons.
Appearance
Brick Road built his first, eponymous dungeon in Winters, which consisted of a small maze, several items and enemies, and a phone that calls Maxwell. He also has the habit of leaving signs scattered in his dungeons, giving advice to the player.
After Jeff and Bubble Monkey completes the dungeon, Brick Road wonders whether the dungeon was too easy before telling them that he and Dr. Andonuts were working to change Brick Road into a human-dungeon hybrid called the Dungeon Man.
Brick Road is next encountered in Scaraba, where his transformation into Dungeon Man has been completed. Ness and his party enters the Dungeon Mantower in hopes of finding a way to travel to Deep Darkness. After they reach the top of the tower and meets Brick Road himself, he will temporarily join the party as non-playable character, controlling the whole tower and dealing high amount of damage to enemies. He is soon, however, unable to follow the party after trees block his path towards the swamp; unable to continue, he allows Ness to reenter his body and use his submarine to travel to Deep Darkness.
Super Smash Bros.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
Brick Road makes a cameo appearance in the Magicant stage in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Dungeon Man will occasionally walk underneath the stage and act as a platform. If the camera is moved inside of him, Brick Road can be seen embedded inside. Though the Magicant stage first appeared in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS, Brick Road himself could not be seen inside of it.
