Healers are beneficial characters in both Mother and EarthBound. The can heal certain status ailments, such as being turned to stone, mushroomized, diamondized, numbness or being possessed. While usually they charge money, they will pay $50 to take the mushroom from atop of a character's head. In Mother, they can also restore Ninten or Ana's PP. In EarthBound, they work for the magic healing shrine.[1]

Memo text implies they were originally intended to reappear in Mother 3, inside the Item Guy's cart. Unused sprites of a man's eyes peering from the tent may have been intended for this purpose; however, it was likely deemed unnecessary due to hot springs restoring status ailments.
