Peaceful Rest Valley is a location in EarthBound connecting Twoson to Happy Happy Village. Its name in the Japanese version is "Grateful Dead Valley," which was altered in localization to avoid legal issues with the band after which it was named. The area can be difficult to traverse due to the enemies giving status ailments or exploding upon defeat.
The first time the player passes trough here, a bridge near the entrance will be broken, forcing the player to take an alternate path where a strange, pencil-shaped object will be blocking the road.
