The Rings in Mother have their own equipment slot, being displayed second from the bottom in the equipment subscreen on the status screen. They are comparable with the [[Coin]]s of the same game, as they both serve the same defense-increasing purpose and they both have their own equipment slots, although the rings generally raise the user's defense with a bit more in terms of value.

Rings are equippable items in the English translation of EarthBound Beginnings and Mother 3. They are used as defense boosting armor in both their appearances.

The Rings in EarthBound Beginnings were originally called Bracelets in the Japanese Famicom version, this was however changed to Rings in the English version.

Usage

When equipped, Rings will increase the wearer's Defense, but have some additional effects in Mother 3.
