===Super Smash Bros. Melee===
Lucas was originally planned to replace Ness, however due to the cancellation of ''EarthBound 64'', Ness was kept instead.
===Super Smash Bros. Brawl===
===Super Smash Bros. Brawl===
Lucas appears as a playable fighter in Brawl. He is a default character unlike Ness. Lucas and Ness both have PK Fire, PK Thunder, and PSI Magnet in their movesets, however they are vastly different. Lucas's PK Fire hits once instead of multi-hits, PK Thunder multi-hits opponents and travels farther than Ness, and PSI Magnet is in front of Lucas but has a hurtbox upon release. Lucas's side smash is also very similar to Ness, and PK Freeze behaves similarly to PK Flash. Lucas and Ness share a Final Smash, PK Starstorm. Aside from this, Ness and Lucas's movesets are entirely different. Lucas uses [[Duster]]'s [[Rope Snake]] as his grab, giving him a long range grab. It can also be used as a tether recovery.
