Fourside

In EarthBound

Fourside is the fourth town Ness and his friends visit. Being a large city, it features many things to do. There is a dinosaur museum here, a cafe (a bar in Mother 2) along with a theater and a very large department store. The Monotoli Building is also located here.

There is an illusion of Fourside created by the Mani-Mani Statue called Moonside. It is accessible through a door in the cafe, and mimics typical night life in the city, featuring many bright lights. People speak in a very backwards manner there, with "yes" and "no"'s meanings being swapped, and overall is very abstract.

Right before Ness, Jeff, and Paula enter the town, they are given a diamond by someone. When they arrive in the town, they find the Runaway Five again. The band has once again been put in debt. To pay off this debt, Ness gives the diamond he was given earlier to the owner of the theater, which once again frees the band. Later, the trio explores the department store. During it however, the lights go out. Paula is also kidnapped. Ness and Jeff go to the top of the store, defeat the alien there, and go outside the store. They now meet Everdred again. He is badly hurt, and a crowd gathers around him.

In Super Smash Bros. Melee

In the Super Smash Bros. series, Fourside is a large stage, with a major landmark being the U.F.O. that can be found sometimes. It changes the way the player can walk if they are walking on it.

Events

An event where Ness must defeat many playable characters from "space" is featured on the Fourside stage.

• Fourside's name comes from the number four, ending the pattern three other towns follow.
