Guns are equippable items present in EarthBound Beginnings and EarthBound. They are used as weapons by Lloyd and Jeff.
Usage
Guns will raiser the holder's Offense when equipped. They are the signiture weapons of Lloyd and Jeff. Many of Jeff's guns can only be obtained by fixing broken items. In EarthBound guns use the "Shoot" command instead of the typical "Bash" command. As a result, their damage output is unaffected by Shields and are incapable of getting hits. Guns are capable of getting hits in Mother 1+2, it is unknown if this was intentional or an oversight.
One gun is also present in Mother 3, namely the Saltwater Gun which is super effective against mechanical enemies, however it is not an equippable item and is instead a one use battle item.
