The photo-man is a character in EarthBound. He appears at various points throughout the game, taking pictures of Ness and his companions to preserve their memories of their adventure. When Ness walks onto a set area, the Photo-Man will gracefully fall down to take a picture, saying "Pictures taken instantaneously! I'm a photographic genius if I do say so myself!" Instead of the commonly-used "Say, cheese!", the photo-man exclaims, "Say... fuzzy pickles!" ("cheese sandwich" in the Japanese version). At the end of the game, after bringing Paula home, when Ness arrives at his home, his mother will tell him that a man dropped by a photo album. During the credits sequence, the player can see all of the photographs taken by the photo-man.

• After checking a sign ironically pointing out caution towards falling objects in the Brick Road Maze.
• The graveyard in Threed.
• In front of the waterfall in Grapefruit Falls.
• In front of Milky Well caves in Saturn Valley.
• In front of the circus tent in Threed after clearing out the zombies.
• After talking to the black sesame seed in the Dusty Dunes Desert.
• The Gold Mine entrance after clearing it out of all five Guardian Diggers.
• On the bridge to Fourside.
• Outside the Dinosaur Museum in Fourside.

Trivia

• In Animal Crossing: New Leaf, Gulliver may describe himself as being in "a fuzzy pickle", in reference to Photo-Man's commonly used phrase "Say... fuzzy pickles!"
