Your Sanctuary
The eight sanctuaries in EarthBound plays a vital in Ness's journey to defeat Giygas. Each of the sanctuaries has a boss and a melody. By collecting the melodies via the Sound Stone and defeating the bosses at each of them, the Earth's powers may be combined to defeat Giygas. Similar quests are in other games of the series; the Seven Needles from Mother 3 and the Eight Melodies from Mother. Each sanctuary appears in a cave-like area.
